Derwen Zebadee

For years I've been writing Santa for this special horse, but it never happened. Of course I went to university and after that I was very busy with work, so it wasn't the right time. Then we got our land last year and again I started talking about a horse, but Adrian said no, so we got our sheep and I was very happy with that, although I still dreamt of that Welsh Cob. But with Adrian being against it I had to change his mind first. Without the help of Megan (Adrian's daughter) this would not have been possible, and all the emails I've send with horses for sale every day may have had something to do with it as well :-)))) After over a year of persuation we went to have a look at some cobs in September. This did not work out and in the mean time I had my friends in Holland saying I should write to Derwen and have a look at their cobs, as they are the best in the world. Well, that was the best advice given and so I wrote. As by that time it was already the end of October I did not think there would be a foal there for me, but maybe we could get one the next year.

But I got this lovely email back of Ifor Lloyd saying he had this little boy for sale. We went over to see him and that was it. Zebadee is so much like all my other animals: cheeky, inquisitive and bouncy. He skips around and is such a happy person. Zeb comes from the best of breeding and he is all I could wish for. I now realise I never got this horse from Santa as he was just not born yet :-)

Zeb will move in with us next month and I just can't wait till he is here. As a proper barking mad diva he will be clicker trained to do tricks and learn a routine to music, but hopefully later I will also be able to do dressage and endurance with him, as well as use him at the dog school to socialise puppies with horses. But first he has to grow up, learn all these new things and be spoiled rotten! :-))))

As Zeb is my special project I've decided it would be nice to have a special blog just for him: http://derwenzebadee.blogspot.com/

First Zeb had a look who I was but was then quite happy to come closer and inspect the bits of apple on my hand. All the time, also in the indoor school he was checking Adrian and me out and making eye contact. Even though he had not been handled so much (as he is only a little baby), he was not afraid and quite inquisitive and eager to meet us.
