The Barking Mad Divas

We have got a new addition to the Barking Mad Divas. On the 6th of November 2010 we drove to Aberystwyth to have a look at this 6 months old lovely black and white boy. No, it is not another Border Collie, as everyone knows that my next collie will also come from Angela Gillespie, as I can not imagine getting one anywhere else than from Detania.

Zebadee, or Derwen Zebadee as his official name is, is a Welsh cob. Ifor and Myfanwy have given me this great opportunity to have one of their lovely cobs. Zeb will be clicker trained and hopefully in a few years Zeb, Wizz and I will be able to do a routine to music together.

All the other divas are doing extremely well. Koda has had a rough year this year as he has been quite poorly but now with his special diet and lots of TLC he is back to his normal cheeky self again and we have started training again after a break of several months. Wizz is in top form, learning new tricks for a new freestyle routine and getting ready for the Crufts semi finals. Wizz will hopefully be trained with Zeb as well once Zebadee has settled in with us. I am curious how they will interact.

Violet is loving her sheep work and we get more and more control. It's nice to see the development and also nice not to be afraid to be run over by the sheep anymore. I can tell you they are heavy!!!! Our sheep were very flighty as they came from the hills in Scotland and had not seen many people or dogs ever before in their lives. Now, after a year with us, they have turned into nosy little cheeky girls, who know exactly if there are dogs around for training or not. When there are no dogs around they will come and have a look at what we are doing and tell us it is time for their feeing (they eat well!!) Adrian and Rogie are progressing as well with their sheep work and I am curious how they will develope over the next years.

Gyp is getting old, but in a very cheerful way. No grumpy old woman in our house, just a very happy but senile old lady that still tries to skip around the house, then gets very tired and has a loud snore!! Even in her old age Gyp is very adorable.
