Obedience
Nowadays there are two types of competitive obedience: British
obedience and F.C.I. obedience like it is done on the mainland
of Europe. Every year at Crufts an international obedience
competition is held that seems to be a combination of exercises
out of the two divisions. In both divisions the judges will look
at motivation & style and precision & accuracy of the executed
exercises by handler and dog.
Even if you are not interested in obedience as
a competitive sport, it is still really important to teach your
dog some basic obedience exercises. More about training some
obedience exercises on our training DVD’s, where
“Barking Mad about Dog Dance”,
shows in great detail how to teach that beautiful and stylish
heelwork as well as how to train some more exceptional tricks.
And on our second DVD “Barking Mad about
Clicker Training” some other
obedience exercises are explained (recall, send away, retrieve,
the hurdle exercise (F.C.I. obedience) and retrieve over the
hurdle (F.C.I. obedience), as well as clicker training in great
detail and some dog dance moves. |
